How Bad Is Your Meeting Culture?


Meetings are a necessary part of the way we do business. Depending on the meeting leader and participants, the effectiveness of your meetings will vary. There are probably meetings you attend and wonder why you were invited, what your contribution was, and what you were supposed to get from the meeting. Another common trend is for people in meetings to multi-task and not remain engaged. Based on online publications and surveys, we found that 4 hours per week are spent by individuals preparing for a status update meeting. Now, if you calculate the meeting preparation time and the actual meeting time for all involved participants, we suspect you’ll want to have some value for all of that time spent.
